Finding a licensed general contractor in Hawaii takes more than a Google search.

Hawaii has strict contractor licensing requirements through the DCCA, and for good reason. Before signing any contract, verify the license number at pvl.ehawaii.gov. General contractors here deal with permit timelines that run longer than the mainland, material costs that include ocean freight, and a labor pool that stays tight year-round. Get at least three bids. The cheapest is rarely the best value on an island where a redo costs twice as much.
