Healing is much more than medicating. Though many think of practices such as rebalance healing center hawaii acupunctureAcupuncture as non-traditional, the truth is that acupuncture and many natural forms of healing are , in fact, more traditional than most western medicines. Sally Shaw and her Rebalance Healing Center provide a service to patients in need that focuses on the natural method of healing with a foundation of treating not only the physical aspect, but the emotional, mental and spiritual as well.

Acupuncture dates back to Neolithic era, and many speculate even earlier. Over centuries upon centuries, the process has been honed and improved. Over as time passed, acupuncture expanded out from China and found it’s way to Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, and even parts of Europe. Now, a global practice, acupuncture is healing all around the world with overwhelmingly positive results. With such a strong Asian cultural influence here in Hawaii, it’s no surprise that acupuncture and herbal medicine have a home with thousands of island residents.

Sally views the opportunity to provide such a service as somewhat of a calling. Having become intrigued by plants, and their medicinal uses, at a young age, she followed that path until it ultimately led her current position at Rebalance Healing center. In her studies, Sally even spent time studying in China at a hospital that was fully dedicated to acupuncture and natural medicine practices. Seeing first hand how the process helped those in need, she is a full believer in the practice and all of the potential it holds. But it doesn’t merely begin and end with acupuncture itself. Sally treats her patients as a whole. There is no separation of the mind and the body. And with great results thus far, she may be on to something special.

“Luckily, word travels fast here. We live on a small island. So when somebody has a good experience, people hear about it.”

Connecting with clients is a large portion of Sally’s job. She has to really get to know each person in order to pinpoint areas in which to treat them. From emotional distress, to dietary habits, Sally handles much more than just aches and pains. The human body is a giant map, and in the case of health, all roads are connected. Stress, discomfort, pain, and sickness can all be remedied more easily with a greater understanding of the patient as a whole. Sally  treats everyone under that understanding.

“When I hear that they are feeling better, it reminds me why I do what I do. It makes me want to help more people.”

From acute to chronic issues, the process of acupuncture varies from person to person. Through progress and consultation, every patient is treated on their own individual timeline. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to health and wellness.

“Each person looks different. Each person feels different. Even inside their bodies people work differently. So we help everyone in a way that best matches them.”

Working tirelessly to continue educating herself on natural healing methods as well as western medicine, Sally has an understanding of how both ends of the spectrum work. And even believes that together, western medicine and her own methods can create the best outcome for a lot of patients. In the end, the goal is to provide each patient with the best possible route to health and well being.

For us here in Hawaii, many of these methods are part of our routine already. And the proof is in the pudding, as they say. We are extremely fortunate in that we have such a dedicated  person like Sally at Rebalance Healing Center. The ongoing twists in health and life can have us out of sorts mentally, emotionally, and physically. And finding the perfect balance can be just a phone call away, with Rebalance Healing Center.
