Gov. Green has signed an executive order locking in Hawaii's solar tax credit for 2026, shielding homeowners and businesses from a potential lapse in the state incentive.

The order directs state agencies to maintain the existing residential and commercial solar tax credit structure through the end of next year. Hawaii relies on rooftop solar more heavily than any other state, and the credit has been a key driver of adoption statewide since its introduction decades ago.
