A pair of longtime Hawaii technology executives are betting that local businesses want a local partner.
Former Xerox Hawaii President Glenn Sexton has launched BizTech Hawaii, a Honolulu-based document management and managed print services company. Joining him are Grant Higa, who serves as vice president of sales and operations, and Senior Account Manager Tori Kaneshiro. Sexton and Higa each spent more than 30 years with Xerox Hawaii before starting the new venture.
The company's pitch is simple: keep technology decisions and business dollars in Hawaii.
Instead of operating under a mainland parent company, BizTech Hawaii says it will focus on serving local businesses while keeping ownership, decision-making, and investment in the islands. The founders argue that approach helps reduce "economic leakage," where profits and business spending leave the state.
The company will offer managed print services, document management, and office technology solutions for Hawaii businesses.
For local companies, the launch provides another option in a market where many technology providers are owned by national firms. For BizTech Hawaii, it's a chance to build on decades of relationships while positioning itself as a homegrown alternative.
